Eiji Aonuma is talking again. This time, he sat down with Official Nintendo Magazine to give us the lowdown on Zelda Wii. Here’s all you need to know:
- MotionPlus is in, and it’s really accurate with your body movements.
- Zelda Wii follows a new formula unlike previous entries- expect surprises.
- The game is far into development- an E3 2010 showing looks likely.
- Graphical style has yet to be chosen. Don’t expect a cel-shaded style though.
- Aonuma is looking to Monster Hunter Tri for inspiration. Zelda Wii might incorporate ideas from that game.
The last point was most interesting to me. MH3 is huge in Japan and this might be a move on Nintendo’s part to expand Zelda’a dwindling popularity there. Other than that, it’s somewhat strange that they haven’t settled on an art style yet. On the other hand, this could be a good thing. As much as I loved Twilight Princess’s art direction, I would be somewhat disappointed if they went with the same style shown in the artwork at E3. What do you think?
