The Legend of Zelda series is chock full of super cool items, so many so, that it seems impossible to name a favorite, much less five for some people. Today we are going to take a look at five of the coolest (in my opinion) weapons/items in The Legend of Zelda franchise and why they are the coolest!
#5. The first item on the list is the Magnetic Gloves. This item shows up in the Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and in Four Swords. This item is fascinating because, it is used like a polarity device to push or pull you toward a magnetized object. You can also push items/objects/enemies away from you or pull items/objects/enemies toward you. This item is cool because you can manipulate the fields of polarity and even move yourself, a partner or magnetic objects all around the area.
#4. The next item on the list is the Deku Leaf from the Wind Waker. This item has multiple uses: You can fly with the leaf, you can use the leaf to momentarily push back some enemies, and you can use it to move items that you may not be able to reach otherwise. This is a pretty cool item because it can be used in a multitude of different ways, it allows you to fly for quite a distance, which was quite a feat, since a Legend of Zelda game had not really allowed this kind of flying in a Zelda game. To me, that was a new invention and a pretty cool one at that, the Deku Leaf turned into a multi-facet tool that put it into this spot on this list.
#3. The next item up on the list is the Ball and Chain. This item is an oddity from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. This unique item/weapon is definitely a shake-up in the staple of The Legend of Zelda weapons in the series. What really makes this item stand out and the have that coolness factor is the manner in which it is used; you can smack enemies or objects around that are in a close proximity to you or you can make a make shift force-field out of this unique item to repel most enemies away from you. This fascinating and unique item really sets it off with the epic boss battle that you encounter! If you actually think about it, this item can be seen as a combination of Nayru’s Love and Din’s Fire!
#2. This next item is really multiple items, but there is one I want to focus on, this entry is the masks from the game, Majora’s Mask. While all of these masks could be seen as being unique and cool, the one I want to focus on is the Goron Mask. This game in The Legend of Zelda series introduced a very different and radical mode of gameplay, which is the use of wearing masks and transformations. The Goron mask is unique in that it lets you transform into a Goron and have their qualities and characteristics. This is really fun and cool, because the Goron provides the fastest means of transportation by the standards of travel in The Legend of Zelda. This transportation also can double as a weapon, in which you can run over, damage and even kill some of the enemies in the game! The Goron mask definitely is a fun and very cool item to work with while playing Majora’s Mask and definitely makes it a unique item in the Zelda series!
#1. We have finally arrived at the last entry on our list, this item is particularly unique, because, not only does it show up in only two games, but there are two of them! Have you guessed it yet? I am talking about the double clawshot! This unique item shows up in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. Unlike the hookshot and the different variations of the hookshot, the double clawshot gives you the ability not only to hook onto targets, but also to hang onto targets and give you the ability to hook onto another target or even take out an enemy. This item/weapon is cool in the fact that it can be used to swing from one target to the next, allowing you to get places that you may not have been able to reach previously. You can also have just mess around and swing from target to target and have hours of fun with it! Although this item shows up kind of late in the game, you can’t but help to go back and explore and have a blast with this fun, cool, and unique item!
