Location: Forest Temple
Items Needed: Whirlwind
The first heart container is acquired after Stagnox is defeated by Link. A chest will appear which holds your heart container.
Heart Container 2
Location: Take ’em All On Challenge
Items Needed: Whirlwind
After clearing the Forest Temple you will be able to complete level one of the Take ’em All On Challenge. Level One will consist of ten floors. After completion of level one you will get a heart container.
Heart Container 3
Location: Snow Temple
Items Needed: Boomerang
The third heart container is acquired after Fraaz is defeated by Link. A chest will appear which holds your heart container.
Heart Container 4
Location: Rabbitland Rescue
Items Needed: Rabbit Net
After the completion of the Snow Temple the Rabbitland Rescue side-quest will be unlocked. After capturing five rabbits Link will be rewarded with a heart container.
Heart Container 5
Location: Snow Sanctuary
Items Needed: 2000 rupees
A heart container can be bought from the Anouki shop for the price of 2000 Rupees.
Heart Container 6
Location: Hyrule Castle
Items Needed: 50 Rupees
After the completion of the Snow Temple Russell will send you a letter with an invitation to participate in his new series of events. Find him in Hyrule Castle and he will challenge you to strike his three guards sixty times. Upon a successful completion of this task Link will be rewarded with a heart container.
Heart Container 7
Location: Ocean Temple
Items Needed: Whip
This heart container is acquired after Phytops is defeated by Link. A chest will appear which holds your heart container.
Heart Container 8
Location: Whittleton Village
Items Needed: Whip
After the acquisition of the Whip you will be able to participate in the Whip Race of Whittleton Village. A speed score of 1:15 or less will earn you a Heart Container
Heart Container 9
Location: Fire Temple
Items Needed: Bow and Arrows
This heart container is acquired after Cragma is defeated by Link. A chest will appear which holds your heart container.
Heart Container 10
Location: Pirate Hideout
Items Needed: n/a
By bringing 10 blocks of Mega Ice to the Papuchia Village fish seller you will receive another Force Gem which will open up the Spirit Track pathway to the Pirate Hideout. Score 4000 points in the Pirate mini-game to win a heart container
Heart Container 11
Location: Sand Temple
Items Needed: Sand Wand
This heart container is acquired after Skeldritch is defeated by Link. A chest will appear which holds your heart container.
Heart Container 12
Location: Beetle’s Air-shop
Items Needed: 5000 Rupees
To get this heart container you must buy 5000 Rupees worth of items from Beetle’s Air Shop. He will then upgrade you to a Gold Member and thank you for your patronage with a heart container.
Heart Container 13
Location: Ends of the Earth Station
Items Needed: Sand Wand
After collecting the 20th and last Force Gem a new Spirit Tracks path will open up to the Ends of the Earth Station. At this station is a cave with some mind boggling block puzzles. Upon completion of the third puzzle Link will earn a heart container.
