Just a week after the release of the first ever handheld adaptation in the series, Nintendo announced that the release date for Super Smash Bros. for the WiiU will be available in North America on November 21, 2014.
This release date has also been paired with the Amiibo figures as well, along with a second wave of figures including Princess Zelda and Luigi due out in December. The Amiibo is a new optional enhancement for the WiiU and the upcoming new 3DS that allows compatible figurines to link with supported video games, allowing two-way transfer of data into and out of said game. So far, Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart 8 will be compatible with the Amiibo figurines.
Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS had a very successful few weeks, selling 2.8 million copies worldwide in such a short time.
Are you excited that Smash has been moved up a month for release? Do you plan to utilize the Amiibo system?
