The long heated feud between Nintendo and Sega is over. Since the failure of the Dreamcast, Sega has brought their franchises to many consoles, including Nintendo’s home systems. Sega has even collaborated and partnered with Nintendo for a variety of titles, including Mario & Sonic at the Olympics.

Sega is now bringing their blue super fast hedgehog into the world of Hyrule. In a pending downloadable update to Sonic Lost World, available March 27 on the Wii U, Sonic will be able to tackle a Legend of Zelda themed zone.

In this Zelda themed level Sonic is able to openly explore the world while dressed in Link’s standard green tunic. This level includes notable icons from a wide-range of Zelda series, including but not limited to: the Hyrule Castle from Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time’s Stalfos, and Loftwings from Skyward Sword. There is even a dungeon of the sorts that Sonic can explore, containing heart containers and other staples from the Zelda series.

Rupees that are collected, in the open Hyrule Field and the more traditional Sonic designed dungeon, are converted into freed animals once the level is completed.

This download is only available for the Wii U version of the game.
