Cloud, from Final Fantasy VII, joins Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS today. He has a Limit Break gauge that will charge as he takes damage or when using his down special “Limit Charge.” Maxing out his gauge increases stats and turns his special attacks into stronger Limit Breaks. His specials are Blade Beam, Cross Slash, and Climhazard. His Final Smash is Omnislash, his most powerful Limit Break.

Midgar, a stage based on the city from Final Fantasy VII, will be releasing alongside Cloud. The stage includes Summons, powerful beings that can be called forth by players who grab the red Materia. Summons that appear are Ifrit, Ramuh, Odin, Leviathan, and Bahamut Zero, and players will receive points for KOs caused by summons.

Cloud will be available today for $5.99 for each version of Super Smash Bros. and will cost $6.99 for the Wii U/3DS bundle. He is expected to receive his own amiibo sometime in the future.
