Sales figures from Media Create indicates that the recently released Tri Force Heroes sold approximately 54,400 copies in Japan. Dengeki however reports a slightly higher figure at 60,000 copies, which equates to 55% of the title’s initial shipment.

It was also noted that Nintendo has primarily focused on the title’s multiplayer features in television commercials. The game’s notable departure from the Legend of Zelda series’ single player gaming elements are being attributed to the sale figures.

They obviously didn’t anticipate this game selling well. They only shipped about 100,000 copies in the initial shipment? And they only sold 55% of that?

Damn. They actually speculated correctly for once (failing miserably with Amiibo, Amiibo cards, and Splatoon).
