3DS Price Drop

3ds price drop

Due to poor sales, caused by a steep price and poor selection of quality games, Nintendo has announced that they are dropping the price of their 3DS handheld system. Originally priced at $250, the 3DS will start to retail at $170 beginning August 12.

An 80 dollar drop!

Nintendo is hoping that this price change, along with the release of several big name titles (Mario Kart, Kid Icarus, Star Fox), will help to bring sales up for the 3DS console.

Now, when I read this I got mad because I just bought my 3DS a couple of months ago and would have waited knowing there was a big price drop coming soon. Thankfully Nintendo is not leaving people like me out of the rewards. If you bought the 3DS before the August 12th price cut then you too will be getting something out of this.

Anybody who has bought the 3DS already and takes it online will be rewarded with 10 free Gameboy Advance games and 10 free NES games to download off the Nintendo eShop. These games will also be available to us early adopters before they are released to the general public.

So who else is liking this 3DS price drop?
