In a recent interview with Siliconera, Skulls of Shogun director, Jake Kazdal discussed his source of inspiration for parts of his game. In the interview he was asked where he got the inspiration for the art style of the Skulls of Shogun.

In Jake Kazdal’s response he cited The Wind Waker. He said that when the game came out in 2002 he was blown away by the graphics. He further stated that he was not prepared for how great the art style was in the game.
As a huge fan of The Wind Waker and its graphics I will have to agree with Jake Kazdal. When The Wind Waker came out I think it was probably one of the best looking games of its time. Do you agree with this statement? Let us know in the comments.
