The Legend of Zelda Created in Minecraft

Hey Zelda fans! Show of hands; who all here has been hoping against hope for a remake of The Legend of Zelda- the original NES classic that started it all? Pretty much all of you would like to see this; and a remake of one of the most influential games of all time definitely doesn’t seem like too astounding of a request, but it unfortunately seems unlikely to happen in the near future. There is hope however, thanks to an ambitiously talented group of Minecraft players; we may have the next best thing.

Posted on Reddit’s forum r/minecraft just last week, users senselesswander and thejohnwithnoh unveiled their ambitious project; months in the making that may be the most impressive Minecraft recreation I’ve laid eyes on: a faithful and fully playable 3D remake of The Legend of Zelda in its entirety; with every shop, dungeon, cave and enemy placed right where it belongs lovingly recreated brick by brick in beautiful voxel graphics; without the use of any mods or skins, by no means an easy feat. While still far from being finished- having only part of the overworld completed and the dungeon layouts completed, the project seems to be coming along swimmingly as indicated by the comparison shots below.

So far, so very, very good! While it does not yet have a release date, you can follow the project’s progress by following its Imgur account. Many fantastic The Legend of Zelda themed projects have been made on Minecraft in the past, but this one is easily the most awe-inspiring I have witnessed. Tell us what you think in the comments and be sure to keep an eye on it as it develops.
