Oh hai all, Zach here!  While production of our Zelda webcomic is currently underway with the story writing and art, I’d like to share with you all the concept art of our main characters!  All of the character art has been made by Galaxynite, and you can check out her amazing work here.  Today, I present to you our favorite princess with a non spoiler bio.  I will be posting one character bio/concept art a day without giving too much away about the story.  In the meantime, I hope you all enjoy the concepts and what is to come for our tale!

Princess Zelda

Age: 18

Race: Hylian

Allegiance: Kingdom of Hyrule

Bio:

First born to King Siegfried Rhoansen Hyrule and Queen Colette Desdemona Hylia, Princess Zelda is the known mortal manifestation of the Goddess and heiress to Hyrule’s Throne. Due to the circumstances of her birth as the reincarnated Goddess, and the prophetic legends surrounding it, Zelda lived out much of her childhood learning to harness the Sacred Power responsible for sealing Ganon. She underwent rigorous training of her mind, body, and spirit; learning the histories and legends of Hyrule. However, Zelda was unusually rebellious in her youth. She did not respond positively to the pressures of her father, and would often avoid training to play with her brother and Link. At this time, Zelda didn’t understand the importance of her training, as well as her destined role as Goddess Hylia incarnate. Of course with age comes maturity, and on her fourteenth birthday, Princess Zelda had received a dream of Calamity Ganon’s destruction of Hyrule 2600 years ago. Having witnessed through the eyes of her ancestor, and seeing the blood of her chosen knight on her hands, Zelda’s demeanor changed drastically. She now understood her role for when Ganon returns, and took hold of that mantle with conviction and dedication.

Much like her ancestors, Princess Zelda has a gentle and kind personality, but is also a realist, which amounts to a certain degree of pessimism. She has the admiration of her subjects and love of Hyrule’s people, but there is an underline of anxiety Zelda suffers from. Though she returns the people’s love in earnest, Zelda stresses in her ability as a leader and the Goddess Incarnate. Yet, she receives council from her older brother, Arion, who is quick to reassure her to hold faith of the life she had been blessed with. Along with having a close relationship with Arion, Zelda is constantly engrained in research of the Ancient Sheikah technology, and going as far as exploring the Divine Beasts, which have remained inactive for centuries. When she isn’t committed to her studies, Zelda trains under Impa in fencing and archery. She treats the training as an exercise of restraint and mental clarity whenever feeling overwhelmed by her responsibilities.

Princess Zelda often confides in her childhood friend and Knight of Hyrule, Link when having doubts of her sense of purpose. Knowing Link’s role as the Chosen Hero gives Zelda something to relate to. Being only known as the Hero and the Princess has made it difficult for them both to outwardly set their individuality apart from the entities they personify. However, the adventures soon to come will shake the façade of prophecy, and rattle destiny’s chains…

Oh hi! I am Zach Wojtowicz, but of course you already knew that. I am a post-college student with a masters in card games... ok, a BA in Writing, but that is why I'm here! Aside from being an avid gamer, I compose music and write stories of fantasy and adventure. I have been playing the Legend of Zelda since childhood, and nothing has influenced my art more than Zelda. My only wish is to share my voice to the community of fans, both old and new, that the LoZ series has made possible and continues to grow.
