Do you remember your most amazing birthday? What year were you celebrating? For young Jaden, his 6th birthday is the stuff of legends.

Jaden - The Hero

His mom, Moose, organized a very awesome Legend of Zelda inspired birthday for her son.

“I’ve always been a [Zelda] fan. It started at the age of 7. I’d site and watch my brother play Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 64 for hours. Ever since then, I go crazy for anything Zelda related,” says Moose. “So when it came time to introducing Zelda to my son, it was a must!”

Moose designed everything from T-Shirts to Styrofoam shields and decor.

She continues, “Jaden doesn’t quite get the full concept of the game yet, but he knows who Zelda is and knows that you play as Link!”

When asked about Jaden’s favorite game, she responded “He likes watching me play The Wind Waker. He plays Links Crossbow Training constantly and even I must admit, he’s pretty good at it.”

I asked Moose how this festive birthday idea came about.

“Every year I ask him what theme he’d like for his birthday. This year he just shouted out ‘Zelda!’ and then he added that he wanted to be Link, because ‘Zelda is a girl.’”

How Moose prepared for this party actually is nothing short of impressive. Here are a few tips, along with a few images, from Moose on what she did to make this party happen.

RED, GREEN, BLUE POTION

“I started collecting Starbucks ice-coffee bottles months ahead to use them for ‘potion’ bottles. I cleaned the labels off with the use of hot water, soap, and Goo Gone. After letting them soak in hot water and bleach overnight, they were ready to be rinsed and filled. All I used was three varieties of Hawaiian Punch: Fruit Juicy Red, Green Berry Rush, and Polar Blast.”

FISH IN A BOTTLE

“For the ‘Fish in a Bottle’ all I did was blue jello in small cocktail cups and put a Swedish Fish in each one.” Follow to this link for the how-to.

After all is said and done, Moose delivered a great birthday gift for her son – a memory that will last a lifetime.
