Slice n’ Dice – Real Life Hylian Sword & Shield

After making it’s debut in Ocarina of Time, the Hylian Shield quickly cemented itself as a deeply rooted icon for the series. So it was really only a matter of time until someone sought to bring it into the real world, and that is exactly what two brothers and their team of smithies have done.

Baltimore brothers Matt and Kerry Stagmar and their team from “Baltimore Knife and Sword”, host of the extremely popular Youtube channel “MAN AT ARMS: REFORGED” have just painstakingly crafted a real life Hylian Shield. Following in the footsteps of the teams two previous Zelda related projects, The Master Sword and the Fierce Diety Sword, the team took it upon themselves to create a replica of the shield that was not only gorgeous, but incredibly sturdy as well. Inlaid with amber before being heat treated and hand painted, this shield is very much the real deal.

Of course, in typical MAN AT ARMS fashion, the video ends with the team taking the shield on a test run. While likely a ways off from blocking swords and Ganondorfs deadly volley blasts, it is more than capable of blocking at blocking arrows, water balloons and melons. It can even smash open jars; one not filled with rupees sadly.
