Nintendo Promotes Miitomo App Through Splatoon’s Upcoming Splatfest

With the addition of Splatoon items in Nintendo’s mobile smartphone app Miitomo, it is now time for Miitomo to be featured in Splatoon!

Would you rather attend a fancy party or a costume party? Miitomo presents this month’s Splatfest theme as players get to choose between regal, elegant parties and entertaining, silly ones. Though it is not the kind of theme most players had hoped for, it is an interesting one nonetheless.

In past Splatfests, regions were almost always forced to play with players from the same region, unlike normal online play, but this particular Splatfest will allow players from all three regions to play together. This means American, European, and Japanese players will be participating in this month’s Splatfest competition together. This Splatfest, different from others, will also take place over three days rather than the normal two days.

As mentioned previously, this specific theme is an odd one. Miitomo does not feature any parties within the app aside from player’s “Miis” being able to visit each other’s houses. It isn’t exactly a relevant theme, compared to Splatoon’s “Pokémon: Red VS. Pokémon: Blue” Splatfest that occured before the games’ release on the virtual console. Legend of Zelda fans can only hope for a “Link VS. Ganondorf” Splatfest or, even better, an “Ocarina of Time VS. Majora’s Mask” Splatfest.

Which team will you be choosing? What Splatfest themes would you like to see in the future? Let us know in the comments below!
