My most special moment in zelda was purchasing Oot for the 3ds and reliving all my childhood memories on the handheld. Oot was my first zelda game and will always be my favorite. My favorite memory in Oot specifically would have to be when I first pulled the master sword and was able to explore all the areas i could as young link, as adult link. Best gameplay mechanic.

My most special moment was my first one. When i was about five my brother came home from either school or a friends house, with the limited edition set. He first played Ocarina of Time, which has long since been my favorite. I would watch him or my mom play whenever i could and sometimes they would let me play. Later, when i had my own game i wouldn’t like battling the bosses because they were so scary to me, so my brother would fight them for me.

I had a lot of great moments playing LTTP with my big brother, but my most special moment in zelda was when I first played Ocarina of Time. I was ten, and I was really scared to go into the grave where you get the Sun’s Song. My big brother was watching and jeered me on, “Come on, if you don’t do it now, you’ll never do it.” I just remember being so proud of myself when I came back out having learned the song. Playing Zelda as a kid helped me face my childhood fears of monsters, ghosts, heights, darkness, all sorts of things. :)

The moment that hit me the most was more recent. Turning on the new Link Between Worlds and hearing the updated version of the Link to the Past theme (which sounded incredible!) and seeing Legend of Zelda taken in a fun, different direction providing a realization that even with how long the game has been around it can evolve itself w/o losing its seemingly everlasting luster.

Although Ocarina of Time has a special place in my heart, my brother had defeated it before me, so when I beat it I remembered the ways he went and it didn’t feel as special. GameCube’s Twilight Princess was the first game I went through on my own. I really loved the friendship (and possibly more?) between Link & Ilia, so when she got captured I felt more emotion for rescuing this girl, because she meant a lot to Link, and Link is the player, the player is me, so Ilia meant a lot to me. There was a cut scene from the game, the one when Ilia got her memory back. I was so happy I cried all over my GameCube controller! And then later she gave me the necklace to call Epona, my friend Ilia is so generous lol

My special moment in the Zelda series is in Ocarina of Time when I was about to fight Ganondorf. The obstacles that had been there, waiting for me to come, were no match for the blade of evil’s bane. With the help of the seven sages watching over me, I headed to the top of Ganon’s Castle listening closely to the eerie music that was playing. the closer I got to the top the louder the music. I had chills when I reached the top. I went in, not knowing what to expect, and there I see Zelda imprisoned in a crystal, then the source of all the evil I had fought, Ganondorf. After the fight with Ganondorf, Zelda and I escaped the castle and it crumbled away. We were almost home free until suddenly Ganondorf reappeared. With the last of his energy, he underwent a hideous transformation and became the true demon he was, Ganon. After the epic fight with Ganon, Zelda helped me with her magic and sealed Ganon away to the Sacred Realm. That is when I know it was finally over.

The most special moment I’ve had in The Legend of Zelda series is when I played my first game, Ocarina of Time, back when I was 4. I didn’t do much, as I couldn’t comprehend much of anything back at that age, so I just ended up running around the Kokiri Forest and the Lost woods. Doing that felt magical for me, and I felt like it was my second home. This lead to me becoming a complete nerd for Zelda, and promptly started my video gaming life-style.

I had my older brother beat Gohma because the boss scared me.

My most special Zelda moment was introducing the game series that I loved more than anything to my best friend who is like a sister to me. The game that i had her play was Twilight Princess. We started a new file for her, and she immediately fell in love with the series. I was so happy to be able to share with her the series that made my childhood so fun.

One of the most special moments that I will never forget was when at age 6 or 7. It was the first time I had ever played a Zelda boss fight I couldn’t beat Gohma, the opening boss in Ocarina of Time. He probably killed me five or six times and got so aggravated that i couldn’t beat that creepy spider. My older cousin Chris came over to watch me from another room and he beat it for me. And after he beat it, he gave me the controller back and I was so happy that I forgot to pick up my piece of heart before entering the circle of light. I was so embarrassed and my cousin just kinda laughed. I’ll never forget that moment. And that’s why to this day I always go: “Get the heart piece, get the heart piece” before I leave a dungeon.

    • Daniel Durrette

I’ve had that problem before. I forgot to get the heart piece after the Water temple, and that was tragic.

      • Sean Gadus

I feel for ya. it sucks to have that happen to you. But I always remember to get it now.

  • Cara Sanks

My special moment with Zelda would be playing the original LoZ with my grandparents when I was little.

  • Andrew Cook

My most special moment had to be coming downstairs and seeing my 11 year old daughter in tears when she beat Skyward Sword. After watching me play OoT, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess as my little side kick, this was the first zelda title she beat on her own. As a father, I couldn’t be more proud, and as a gamer, I was insanely jealous that she beat it before I did!

The moment on Sykward Sword when it looked like Zelda and Link would kiss, I had to re-swallow my heart! Then they just jump off the edge -_- Disspoitment…..

My most special moment in the Legend of Zelda series was Twilight Princess for wii. I fell in love with the immediate response of the bow and other weapons such as the ball and chain. But the special moment was the storyline of the game, how Midna made so many sacrifices for other people despite being so rude and seeming selfish at the beginning. I loved how it continued the story of the other games, and brought back Link from the past in the swordsman who trained Link in this Zelda game.

My most special moment in the Legend of Zelda series was playing though and finishing OoT the 1st time. I was 10 and had seen my dad finish the game numerous times, and i had played OoT, but never finished it b4. I did then, and it made me so angry! I was mad 4 Link cuz he had to go back to the moment he met Zelda and all the hard work I (through Link) had done didnt even matter! I still remember yelling at the screen as it froze on Link seeing Zelda then faded to black and white. Now that I’m older, I laugh at this moment. I understand now why OoT ended the way it did and I’m ok w/ it:)

My favorite Zelda moment was when I was around 7 or so. We had sold our SNES and a few games in order to get an N64. With the N64, we get OoT. I played this game near every day, and even had sleepovers at my aunts to play the game together. Yeah, it’s nothing special, but it got me he hooked on Zelda, and it’s my favorite franchise ever to this day.

My favorite moment is undoubtedly the buildup to the final battle in skyward sword where you get to obliterate hundreds of moblins on your way down into the sealed grounds in the ancient past. The atmosphere of darkness and the anticipation of the upcoming epic battle made it all the more satisfying.

The most special moment for me in all of the Zelda games was in Skyward Sword. At the very end of the game, Zelda and Link decide to stay on the surface and be together to protect Hyrule.

  • Daniel Ferguson

For me, the most special moment in the Zelda series was playing through A Link to the Past for the first time. I know that game has a fair share of criticism for it’s complexity, but I believe it truly exemplifies the ideal gamer experience. After taking what felt like a year to make it through every dungeon in the game, I made it to Ganon. I admit it took me multiple attempts to finally defeat him, but that was all worth it in the end when I came out victorious. The satisfaction that Hyrule, its citizens, and the Maidens were all safe from Ganon’s reign was a great relief and reward on my behalf. That fulfillment of finally achieving that hero status is also felt during the end credits with that soothing music that incorporates the Main Theme of the game. Link wasn’t the only person to become a hero. I felt I was right there with him, as if I was Link, myself.

My special moment in the legend of zelda games is link. His character is wondering funny and loving that he goes through alot of hardship to win. He doesn’t give up and does what’s right. I’ve been through alot in life and I can relate to link! beautiful series
